We would be very happy to pray for you

We can pray for you

There are two ways in which we can pray:

Christian Enquiry Agency has the help of 200 Christians who have agreed to pray for everyone who contacts us.  We send them an email message every week.  We give them just the details that you give us and they pray to the Christian God for you.  No one will contact you.  We will tell our helpers your name, but not your email address.  You can just send us your initials or make up a name if you prefer, confident that God will understand.  Your message will not appear on this website.

This website gets thousands of visitors who are exploring the life and teaching of Jesus.  You can put a message on the website asking them to pray for you.  You will not be asked to give your name, and we ask you also to respect the privacy of others by using only first names, initials or descriptions.

Prayers for you to say

In an emergency, use this prayer straight away:

Lord God,
I am in trouble.
I want to believe that you listen to me and love me.
Please help me.
Amen.

Alternatively you can use this prayer, which Jesus himself used two thousand years ago:

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins

as we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours

now and for ever.
Amen.

Read what the Bible says about it

An extract from the Bible:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Where to find it:
Philippians 4:6,7

About these words:

From a letter written by Paul, one of the first leaders of the Christian church after the death and resurrection of Jesus, to a small church in Philippi.

And they said...

William Temple, 1881–1944, Archbishop of Canterbury:

When I stopped praying, coincidences stopped happening.

Clement of Alexandria, about 150-215, Greek theologian:

Prayer is conversation with God.

Soren Kierkegaard, 1813-1855, Danish philosopher:

Prayer does not change God, but changes [the one] who prays.
